Sepahan Wins League Cup

MNA - Sepahan won the League Cup as it beat the capital's Esteqlal 2-0 in the second-leg final here Wednesday.
In front of over 80,000 fans in Azadi stadium in western Tehran, the cool-mannered visitor netted one in each half by Mohammad Seyyed Salehi to celebrate the title on a 5-2 aggregate victory.
Slovak keeper of the yellow-clad Sepahan, Kamil Susko, was key to the walkover as he denied Esteqlal players several times.
Susko palmed away a spot-kick by Yadollah Akbari in the 28th minute. Sepahan defender Reza Hassanzadeh brought down striker Ali Samereh in the area and the referee Massud Moradi awarded Esteqlal a penalty.
Sepahan opened the scoring on 25 minutes as Nasser Farshbaf slid a pass for Salehi, who side-footed the ball past Esteqlal keeper Vahid Taleblu.
Salehi came close to his second goal in the 66th minute when his low shot from close range was deflected by the advancing Taleblu.
But he doubled his scoring two minutes later, heading home a Hedayat Shahriari cross.
Sepahan will represent Iran in the Asian club competitions.
